Qualified accountants, not data entry
The single biggest determinant of whether outsourced accounting works is who is actually doing the work. So here is how we hire, how we structure engagement teams, and what happens when someone leaves.
Who you’ll actually deal with
Engagements are led by qualified accountants who have run practices and finance functions themselves — not by account managers relaying messages between you and a delivery floor.
Founder & Chief Executive
Chartered Accountant
Fifteen years split between practice and offshore delivery. Started Accountforme after running a compliance book that grew faster than it could be staffed.
Chief Operating Officer
CPA
Owns delivery across all four markets. Previously ran a 200-seat finance shared services centre for a listed group.
Head of Quality & Review
ACCA
Designs the review framework and signs off every engagement’s file standard. Former audit manager.
Head of Client Success
CA
Runs onboarding, SOP design and quarterly service reviews. Your first call when something needs to change.
Head of Access & Data Controls
CISA
Owns the access model: who holds which client login, at what permission level, reviewed and revoked on schedule.
Head of Talent
Chartered MCIPD
Recruitment, qualification pathways and retention. The reason your team doesn’t change every eight months.
Add real names, photographs, LinkedIn links and credentials before launch. Anonymous leadership pages measurably reduce enquiry conversion in this category — buyers are assessing whether they’d trust you with client data, and faces do a lot of that work.
The filter, in order
Roughly one in fourteen applicants makes it through. The bottleneck is deliberately the technical assessment, not the interview.
Qualification screen
CA, CPA, ACCA, CMA or an accounting degree with demonstrable practice experience. No exceptions for senior roles.
Technical assessment
A real, messy trial balance from an anonymised file. We’re looking at judgement on classification and what they flag as a query — not speed.
Market specialisation test
Jurisdiction-specific: US sales tax nexus, UK CIS treatment, Australian super, Canadian GST/HST input credits.
Background verification
Identity, education, employment history and criminal record checks completed before any system access is granted.
Six-week academy
Before touching a client file: our review standard, the client’s market, security protocol and communication conventions.
Retention, and why it matters to you
Every time an offshore provider loses a person, you pay for it in re-learning — even if the invoice doesn’t say so. So we treat attrition as a client-facing metric, not an HR one.
Replace with verified figures before launch.
If someone leaves your engagement
- A trained backup already knows your files — continuity doesn’t depend on one person
- Replacement candidates are shortlisted for your interview within five working days
- Handover overlap is free — you don’t pay twice for the same seat
- Your SOP is the source of truth, so knowledge doesn’t walk out with anyone
Market pods, not a general pool
Accountants are trained for one jurisdiction and stay in it. Compliance knowledge is specific, and rotating people across markets is how errors get made.
United States pod
Trained on US GAAP and IRS requirements. Working daily in QuickBooks Online, CCH Axcess, UltraTax.
United Kingdom pod
Trained on FRS 102 and FRS 105 and HMRC requirements. Working daily in Xero, Sage, IRIS.
Australia pod
Trained on AASB standards and the ATO requirements. Working daily in Xero, MYOB, Class Super.
Canada pod
Trained on ASPE and the CRA requirements. Working daily in QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage 50.
Your engagement team
A preparer, a reviewer and a named engagement lead. On dedicated-team engagements you interview and select the preparers yourself.
Dedicated, not shared
Your accountants work on your files only. No pooled queue, no context-switching across twelve unrelated clients in a day.
Your working hours
Teams are rostered to overlap with your business day — typically four to six hours live, extended for month-end and busy season.
Let's size your first engagement
A 30-minute call, a written scope, and a fixed monthly price. No obligation, no procurement process, and a two-week paid pilot before you commit to anything longer.
